Sylen Lakes Wedding Photographer
Yesterdays wedding at Sylen Lakes in Llanelli was my wettest, gloomiest and foggiest wedding I’ve ever photographed but that certainly didn’t stop us getting out there in the typical Great British weather to create some gorgeous images for Emma & Jamie.
Sylen Lakes is an incredible wedding venue and they do weddings so well. Nick and Rachel are so efficient and friendly nothing was too much trouble. They take on a select number of weddings every year to ensure they can deliver an exceptional service and it showed all throughout the day.
Emma and Jamie live in Derby so I had only met them twice prior to their wedding but working with them yesterday I felt like I’ve know them for years. Emma looked stunning in her Justin Alexander dress and floor length veil and as Jamie watched her walk down the aisle with her Grandfather it was evident that he is so in love with her.
Their ceremony was without doubt the best wedding ceremony I’ve ever experienced. Everyone and I mean everyone was singing at the top of their voices and the prayers were so personal. They even had a band in the church but I’m saving that for the full blog post! After the ceremony there was tea and cake served in the church hall which had been provided by all their guests – I can not confirm or deny that I ate 3 slices of lemon drizzle cake….
After loads of tea and cake we headed to Sylen Lakes. I’d got my head around the rain and had my plan in place of what we were going to do but when the fog set in half way to the venue I had to rethink my plan quickly. We held off going out for portraits until after the wedding breakfast in the hope that it would clear. But at 7.45pm we decided to just go for it and Emma & Jamie you were absolute troopers! I think it just goes to show that with the right attitude you can still have epic wedding photos even in the worst weather! And a big huge thank you to Nick for driving us around in the golf buggy – you were a legend!
When we got back inside the marquee it was a quick change and a different lighting set up for the first dance. I’m so glad Emma told me in advance that they had learned a routine because it meant I could get the exact set up I needed to make sure they had the best dancing shots – and guys just so you know I had the biggest smile on my face watching you literally tear up the floor you were both incredible!! 😀
To end what had been a fantastic wedding day at Sylen Lakes we went back out in the rain!
Emma & Jamie thank you so much for having me, thank you for trusting me in the worst conditions ever and thank you to all your friends and family for making me feel so welcome. I’m thrilled with what we’ve captured. Huge congratulations to you both, until the full collection is ready here are your previews!
Thank you also to Sylen Lakes Weddings for being epic!
