I love photographing children for any occasions and at any age click here for some examples, but I have to say, cake smashes are one of my favourite type of shoot! I first photographed Maisie and Ewan when they were newborn babies and then again at 6 months, so when their parents asked me to do a cake smash shoot to celebrate them turning one I was very excited! the best part of being a Swansea cake smash photographer is seeing all the mess and capturing the buzz and excitement of their little faces literally cramming in as much cake as they physically can! The anticipation in their eyes as if to say “is this really all mine?!” and “I’m gonna make so much mess!”

Natalie, Maisie’s Mum wanted a rainbow theme for her cake smash, so she had a fabulous cake made with rainbow layers and a cute little rainbow outfit too. After a little encouragement, Maisie was well on her way to demolishing her exceptionally well made cake! but when I photographed Ewan he was literally going nuts over his chocolate flavoured cupcake and didn’t need any encouragement what so ever!

Swansea cake smash photographer – How the shoot works:

When parents book a cake smash, I like to discuss outfits they’d like to use, colour’s they prefer and any props or favourite toys they’d like to incorporate to ensure we get the most out of the session. All cakes are provided by the parents to be sure there’s no contamination or allergic reaction to ingredients used, and it’s always good to have icing that’s quite ‘wet’ as the messier the better after all!

Because I have a portable studio, I can either come to you or you can come to me whichever you prefer, the added bonus of coming to me is that I get to clean up the aftermath! In warmer months we can even do a session outdoors the shoot is tailored entirely to your preference.
