A little over 3 weeks ago I posted some highlights from Gavin & Nicola’s Pembrokeshire wedding at The Wolfscastle Country Hotel. I’ve just finished editing their full collection and now I can share their day with you in more detail. I love photographing weddings in Pembrokeshire because there’s always beautiful scenery to work with and also because it used to be home and where I grew up.

This was the first wedding of my 2017 season and what a day we had! The sun shone from morning until evening it was gorgeous and without doubt the hottest day of the year so far. Although working with the harsh sunlight was challenging we got some gorgeous portraits with the Preseli mountains in the background and then again in the evening we came up trumps as we took a little drive just around the corner from the hotel where there’s some pretty beautiful scenery.

Gavin got ready at the Hotel and Nicola had her bridal prep at her parents house with her bridesmaids, flower girl and pageboys. Nicola looked sensational in her Annasul Y dress from White Bride in Narberth and her rainbow bridal shoes. Her headpiece finished her look off perfectly adding a touch of boho chic to her look and she rocked it effortlessly. The colour scheme was a classy mix of subtle sage and yellow and I really loved the style of the bridesmaid dresses especially the open backs as they were a great compliment to Nicola’s dress which was low back.

The mixture of a great atmosphere, beautiful weather and a lovely venue meant that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. After the wedding breakfast and getting back from the evening portraits session Gavin’s Dad had prepared a video montage which consisted of some photos of the newly married couple from their younger days and also some messages of congratulations from some quite familiar faces including George North, Jonathan Davies and Lawrence Dallaglio to name just a few. After Gavin and Nicola had danced their first dance the dance floor got busy and the party really was under way.

It was a beautiful wedding for a lovely couple and thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome, and a big thank you to Sophie Collins for second shooting with me.
