WINTER WEDDING AT MISKIN MANOR

Sarah and Paul got married back in January and had a lovely winter themed wedding. This was my first time being a Miskin Manor wedding photographer and I really hope I get more bookings here as the venue and the grounds are really beautiful, and make gorgeous backdrops for portraits. I first met Sarah and Paul 18 months before their wedding when they booked me, and I have to say, it was obvious from the start how in love these two are!

The day began early at Sarah’s parents house, when I arrived bacon butties and mugs of tea were being prepared and hair and makeup was well under way. The girls were very calm and extremely organised thanks to Sarah’s Dad who had arranged the morning with extreme precision. The getting ready stage is one of my favourite parts of the day to shoot and to also be a part of. I love talking hair styles, make up tips, shooting the dresses and details and I love capturing the nervous excitement from everyone who’s involved.

Sarah had her dress from Cariad Bridal in Swansea, she carried a vibrant yellow and ivory bouquet which complemented the navy of her theme beautifully.

The ceremony was held at Riverside Baptist Church in Port Talbot, and conducted by a very close family friend which made it extra special.

After the ceremony we headed up to Miskin Manor and although it was sunny it was very cold but that didn’t stop Sarah & Paul from getting outside into the stunning grounds of the venue for their portraits. Around 35 minutes later we were back in the warmth and getting ready to sit down for the wedding breakfast. The room was beautifully decorated with Navy and silver, and the cake was scattered with snowflakes which glistened in the light from the candles. While their guests were enjoying their food, a string quartet played in the background which Paul had organised as a surprise for Sarah.

After the speeches the guests returned to the welcoming bar area with open log fire and the evening guests began to arrive to help continue the celebrations. It was a beautiful day for a very special couple, and here are the highlights of their day:
